About Me
I have been providing outpatient child, adolescent, and family therapy in Raleigh, North Carolina since 2001. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment where everyone feels supported as they work toward personal growth and change.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. I obtained a Master's in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University after earning a B.S in Sociology from Virginia Tech. I specialize in mental health work with children, adolescents, and young adults with a special interest in treating trauma-related disorders, domestic and international adoption, child anxiety, grief and loss, and ADHD.
As a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, I have specialized training and expertise in a variety of play therapy techniques with children. Parents are an integral and vital part of the therapeutic process; by providing education, training, and skill development to parents, I am able to help them help their children meet their social, behavioral, and/or emotional goals.
The therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of the therapy process. I am known to others as being empathetic, genuine, compassionate, and encouraging. I will support you, guide you, offer helpful strategies, and celebrate successes alongside you.
When I am not working in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, binging on Netflix, traveling, and watching college football. Go Hokies!
